Default engine options??

ive got an audi 80 1981 1.6 carb

the engine hav given up, what options do i have ? im going to stick with carbs as its easier... will any mk1 mk2 mk3 golf engine fit without too many problems??

yeah think they are all pretty much the same.... cylinder head water outlet on some early engines are in a different place to newer engines but think they fit with out too many problems... mk3 golf has different cam covers and things like that but id say pretty similar ...have put a mk2 golf GTI engine in an '82 audi 80 before just strip off all the golf bits and refit the 80 bits...

what about where it bolts to the gear box?

I have a 1.8 engine (DZ) from an 80 Sport.

You can block up the injector holes and put your carb manifold on it.

Same as Golf GTI engine, 8 valve.

£100 if you collect from Wiltshire (3 hours from my house to Dover).

same bolt patern.... different flywheels and clutch but its all bolt on stuff...
yup i had the standard carb on the one i put the gti engine in... just fit dome nuts ontop of the injectors.... sorted...
