I totally agree with you Dave. The seller could ask £5k for it if he wanted to, but it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. At the moment cars are harder to sell mainly because of the recession etc. The exception to the rule is all these MK1 and MK2 Escort RS2000s etc. They just seem to go for mega money, and sell pretty quickly too. The only old Audis that seem to fetch really good money is the ur quattro. But only the really good ones seem to sell. All Types is an example. How long has he had some of his? If the price is right it will sell. I would have thought the vast majority of people on here would think the same. Let's hope someone on here buys it so that it stays 'in the know'.

Default Audi 90 Sport

Hi all

Just got computer working again i dont know for hw long......................been cooked over last few months and think its a losing battle

JUST A QUICKIE .........i look at interior picture of car and i think i see a harzard light switch on center dash.....BUT hes got a harzard light switch on the steering colum too..............is this correct.

I ran this set up on my deseased avant as it helped with quick useage of hazards ,by keeping hands oin wheel....

Just wondered if the same was done on this car for same reason???

Wish it was in my parking bay

Cheers for now(hope to be back as soon as i can)

john

Hi John, I put the Hazard switch in it when I had it to replace the blank switch, so it is a dummy switch in effect. How's the 90 Sport doing?

I actually saw this car up close about 3 days ago when I went to collect some bits from him.

The car currently runs a set of mint aero rims (which if anyone buys the car and wants to do a deal on some speedlines or sell me the Aeros I'd be interested in!) has the smoked lights fitted but generally looks a very nice car indeed, the interior is tidy, the bodywork the same, if I'm being honest it probably isn't worth the £1800 asked but speaking to the owner he seemed desperate to get a practical car (b4 80 1.6 petrol was mentioned) so someone may be able to screw him down and do a deal.

One word of warning.

The parts I had off him were on ebay originally, he agreed a price to sell off ebay and promised to remove them that night and me to pop down in a days time and collect with cash, he then welshed on the deal.

In the end I won them on ebay for the price agreed off ebay so ultimately he lost out with ebay fees etc. But the fact he will go back on his word is worth knowing. In the event of doing a deal with him check the car is everything it is described as, what you want etc. Then leave a deposit and get the v5 off him. That way he knows you won't mess around and most importantly he has a big incentive not to mess you around.

I think with the correct wheels on and the rear lights changed to standard this car could be something special, rare cars like this aren't worth the money if messed around with, completely original is the only way to go.

I do have a full spare aircon kit here if anyone buys the car.

I totally agree with the keeping it standard bit. Each to their own and all that, but I would pay more for a non molested original car, than one that has been messed with. The only mods I would add would be the factory options that were available for it. When I owned it, it was 100% unmodified, save for the 3 Spoke 80 Sport 16V steering wheel I fitted. I personally wouldn't buy a modified one, unless it came with all it's standard bits and was easy enough to revert back to standard. However, like I said, each to their own, and if we all liked the same it would be a boring world.

Absolutely. My 90 came with a scarily good option choice from new, the only bits I've added are factory options and otherwise it is staying standard. Whoever did order my car must have been slightly mad as it was effectively a sport in all but name and side mouldings!

This is up for sale again, same price. Not too far from me and I'm quite keen on a 90qs at the mo. Interesting to read comments on character and price... wait and see what happens I think

Yep, I spotted it the other day on Pistonheads. The car sounds good, so it would appear that the asking price seems to be the stumbling block. If you are genuinely interested in buying it, get down there with pound notes and make him a bid on it.......
