the rad fan switch only works through the ignition.

This is the after run circuit playing up as it works when the ignition is off.

Relay or afterrun sender are the most likely culprits

Would anyone know where the Afterrun Sender is located on these cars?

I have same problem, and Ive pulled every relay also, and it still keeps running.

I've just disconnected the cooling fan for now,as the engine doesnt really get hot enough on the journeys Im doing at the moment.
Hope this isnt too silly a thing to do

Awaits flaming!

Yeah I take your point.

Its either flattened battery, which needs a new alternator too....or a cooked engine....

Think I will stick with the battery, and reconnect straight away! Sillygroom!

I take it you dont know where the sender is then Mr Fire?????

hello.......this is the page......!!

http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl...ing.html#after

for you that is..!! looks like the turbus models have an electric after run water pump too...but there is a pic of the after run control unit on that page.. and the sensor...on the main coolant flange..
but i dont have that sensor........so ill have to keep looking...
i probably do have the control unit though...so thats a start..!!

Bloomin' Marvellous Dvnkvm!

Many thankings

I shall have this sensor out and clean and check the resistance, along with the other two.

Im blowing cobwebs off engine components that haven't seen the light of day for 26 years here.
Surgeons touch needed,Im going in!

Spookily enough...my 200 hadnt seen a live battery for a few years and when I connected one the fan came on straight away!!...I didnt look to see what the problem was as I had too much to do but it seems to be prevelant to the 200.
I await Groomus's surgery and prognosis
