What makes you think that?

The JS 1994cc Fi engine will run on 91octane unleaded at a push, and 95 octane unleaded forever and a day... If it plays up it's just a timing issue, not an engine/specification issue...

My father when he was driving it spoke to both chamberlain motors in potton beds (the guy there knows his audi's and built a ur up from a shell) and I think it was auto something or other on works road letchworth and both couldn't get it to run right on unleaded and said the exhaust valves needed changing as running it on unleaded would burn them out or something?

As simmo says NO problem with unleaded run for ever and a day..

It was helios as I had to have the paint matched after an accident damaged the driverside wing, still got a couple of tins of the paint lying around, along with all the history to the car
