Now I like snow. I'll go and actively seek it out if I have a car worthy of it. But tonight on the way home it was deadly. 4 - 5'' of soft fluffy stuff on top of sheet ice, even on the main roads. Now I am in a borrowed car at present and I'm respecting that, but pulled of the lanes onto the main Eccleshall to Loggerheads road at Wetwood, saw a cars headlights in the distance coming up Blackwaters Bank so I pulled out. Within 1/2 a mile 'he' was behind. In a P reg Ford Galaxy in White. Five yards distance would have been praising him. I was doing 45 to 50 and he even tried to overtake me but thought better of it. This absolute stupidness was endured for 2 miles and then the Co-Op hill was descended. He was that close I couldn't see his headlights. I went down in 2nd gear just letting the car 'bump' off it's revs and transmission. Had I stopped I'm not sure what I would have said to Al in the morning. But I know something, I would of got out and chinned the tw*t clean on, no questions. I WILL see him again.
I was still shaking half an hour later.

Some people have just not driven in bad conditions before.
On the way to train station this morning,I was following a stupid woman. She came up to a junction(at speed)and slammed on,she slid for about 6 foot into main road.Good job there was no one passing.
In the car park there was(another)woman trying to reverse into a parking space. She was reving so much(slipping)I was waiting for her to grip and go through the fence.
I heard on the radio this morning, that a bus in Speke turned over.

Just watched a Civic Type-R go past, fishtailing down the road on purpose. I was just waiting for him slide off into a tree but he didn't oblige!

Well I did well to get home tonight in the Passat and 225 baldish tyres. Some helpful people in burton helped push the old beast up the hill after the guy in front stopped for some reason and once I'd lost momentum I was stuck. No salt anywhere so all the roads were sheet ice. Even on the level it was taking forever to get going but made it back in 2 hours, normally 25 mins, sliding everywhere watching several people panic and ram the kerb. Have to go out in Passat tomorrow to rescue the A4 as Lynn bottled it and left it at work, despite being the one car with proper winter tyres on it...
Then to top it all my daughter had a snow ball fight and smashed the largest double glazed window in the house, so thats another months Cq money down the drain.
