the only tyre in 245/40ZR17 which can be fitted to the 7" Cups on the RS2 are Dunlop SP8000. These were specially comissioned by Dunlop when the cars were new. No other 245 section tyre is approved for fitting to a 7" rim

SP8000s have been out of production for a long time and are not available.

You'll need to fit 225/45ZR17

Yeh i've fitted them already and there not good enough when your pushing on. I have herd that the new 245/40R17 Dunlop fits. So we're going to try them tomorrow.

Ok they are the only option for us 215 15 boys and i know they do 16/17/18

Yeh if you go onto kwik fits site you can put your car in and it will suggest a range of tyres that will fit.

The Tyre garage I use have got the full range of tyre makes for me to try tomorow

245 really is too wide for a 7" rim. Most 225 tyres including my Goodyear F1's on the Passat are borderline on a 7". So 245 would need at least a 8" as a minimum, prefferably an 9".
Try some Goodyear F1-GSD3, they grip like glue... though they do wear down quite quickly too. and not the cheapest, but brilliant wet or dry...
