Default Not quite a classic Audi to the Isle of Wight

Firstly, apologies, I know it’s not a classic Audi, but I thought I'd share some photos – we took the S3 on a late booking trip to the Isle of Wight last week, we’re now ‘dog-less’ so went without the Thule Top Box. The S3 coped magnificently with 4 adults and all the luggage. It’s not cheap getting a car over to the island but it is worth it. The roads were quiet, pretty much pot hole free and entertaining to drive. The S3 didn’t disappoint either.

The S3 loaded for bear on the ferry out.

The cottage and S3

The Needles and Lighthouse. It was actually, genuinely blowing a force 10 gale when I took this photo. The girls were struggling to stand up on the viewing platform.

The S3 resplendent in the morning sun

Tragically, we (read I) had to do the Steam Railway –

We bumped into the local dealership parts department manager.

The Ferry home

The S3 homeward bound.

Spinnaker Tower and Portsmouth Harbour. A ship hole of a place

Last time I went to the Isle of Wight I was about 10.

I just need to scheme a way of getting the Ur or the RallyRep out there for a week now.

I quite like the Isle of Wight, and have to go over there for work regularly, I can tell you red funnel is a load cheaper than wightlink. Normally £47 for the van, and no additional charge for passengers.

The local parts department manager was really sweet, actually. Wandering about between customers, grumbling under its breath, looking expectantly at the elderly and ready to pick any carcass to the bone.

Interesting, thanks Darren. We just went the usual Wightlink route. I'll check that out

Some really nice shots there. I've never been to the Island but it's on my list
