I can get to work with my FWD B3, and because it have FWD and because on road isn't so big traffic density
I just asked - I am from Latvia, on our roads use salt, so 25 years old audi, if not carefully maintained by owner, in most cases is bucket of rust like opel, or maybe even worse Most of B2's [only some] i had ever seen personally, was with serious rust, or with re-welded doorsteps and floor And there isn't any, which don't have rust at all - ok, maybe is - but u can buy one for, let's say, 2k pounds.
Also, i'm wondering about mileage of cars, seen in this forum - looks like brittish don't drive with their cars

It isn't nothing
Well, just one example - my daily B3. On odo there is 300k km. Before i changed engine [i changed gearbox as well, but this was half year earlier], condition of old engine was, let's say, 500k or 600k Main bearings gone, head gasket gone and so on This engine, what i am using now, also have main bearings gone I'll save some money and overhaul it, because this at last is 2.0E 3A, and not 1.8 carburatted SF Cars, older than 5-10 years with original mileage is rarity Also, because many ppls are still stupid, and they buy mileage, not car. Also, there is so many turkish and other mzfckrs in germany, who fakes mileage. And we have neighbours lituanians, who are famous with their welding skills Well, another example - my mother's mk3 golf. He bought directly from germany, 10 years old, 1.6 engine, 88k km, service book and so on. In that time i was small and stupid So i only realized after two or three years, that mileage is at last 300k km [after clutch change ] and service book is fake too In this year i also realized, that the engine is 1.4 and front of car is rewelded It's so typical...
