Got my coupe out of the garage today to go to a local classic car show and my clutch pedal went to the floor just as I was driving past the end of my road. I coasted into my drive and lifted the bonnet to find that the C clip on the cable adjuster had fractured
. Luckily it had come to rest on a web of the crankcase. Walked up to my local car spares shop to see if they had a circlip but unless you want a set of alloy wheels or a very loud wireless or stickers to tell everybody what equipment you haven't got, no chance. So I got my mig welder out and put the remaining piece of clip in place and managed to tack it back in place. Just got back and checked the repair and it seems to be holding ok, so will have to get a new cable and clip next week. |
