Question solid tappets and shrick 272 camshaft?

Having still not swapped the 2.5 L GTi eng lump in to my new CQ, I was wondering if I could fit this shrick 272 camshaft to my standard 2.2 KV for the time being?

I know the cam i bought is designed for a solid lifter head, so not suitable for hydro, but I been wondering if I could simply get some solid lifters and fit them, together with my 272 cam on to my standard KV 2.2 ?

can it be done? and is it strait forward? It just seems a shame to have this solid lift camshaft sitting by my side & not making use of it.
