Default UrQuattro speakers – part numbers sizes etc...

The tape deck in my Toronto is on the fritz so I've whipped it out and installed a Blaupunkt Cambridge until I can get the Toronto fixed. All done without butchering the original loom Also the Cambridge has orange LCD so matches the MB dash better. Downside is no Dolby or auto-reverse, so I am slumming it a bit for a while.

Anyway, now that I can play my ancient cassettes I've discovered that the front O/S speaker is dead, and I'd like to fix it. Does anyone know if this is a part shared with other VW models, or whether there is worthwhile upgrade that I can fit without interfering with the car (ie will fit discretely under the speaker grills and won't require opening out of holes etc.) Getting speaker upgrades for Mk2 Golfs is easy, but I see nothing advertised for Audi B2.

Failing that, does anyone know of a point of failure in the wiring for the speakers other than at the speakers themselves? Basically the circuit is open. In my experience a duff speaker will make some sort of noise, whereas this one makes none at all.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
