I found out last weekend (only after jacking up both Audi's) that the 16" five spokes from my 89 coupe GT have a smaller stud displacement than my 86 quattro. By that I mean the four stud holes are closer to the centre of the wheel than in the quattro.
I had just assumed (stupidly it turns out) that all 4 stud coupe's had the same fitments. My question is, is it common knowledge amongst the rest in the forum here that the wheels from a 1.8 GT won't fit a 2.2 Quattro coupe? I'm guessing it's the difference between 100x4 and 108x4 pcd!?! Also, I don't suppose there's any way around this as the ones from the GT are bot 15's over the quattro's 14's and the tyres are brand spank me new! |
