Default Officially Pissed off with the snow...

Right, had a good old whinge with Briggers yesterday, and it's cranked up a notch today...

Since the snow came, living on a hill has been 'fun', and being a minor road, the attention to 'detail' by Worthing Borough Clowncil has been 'nil'... Only to be expected really... So, no refuge collection since before Christmas for us... Better still, the school is on the other side of the valley, and that too was closed for 3 days last week as the council picked it's collective trunk... When it re-opened on Monday, everyone was asked to walk as the entrance had been cleared by parents and staff, but the hill leading to the school was like the North face of the Iger and the pavements were almost impossible to stand up on... Better still, the path leading from High Salvington (the top of the hill) was also untreated and claimed at least a dozen victims in the 5 minutes I stood there laughing at the misfortune. Yesterday afternoon, we went into the town, and behold, grit-a-plenty, but no shoppers, the place was dead.

This morning, we have another dusting of snow, 2cm at most...

School Closed again...

The main roads, last week, were all okay away from the council depot, but the bit down through the valley 'the third side of the triangle', was lethal.

The Residents are also pissing me off...

They've all resolutely refused to park on their driveways, so the margin for error on the untreated road is limited, then they've cleared their drives... (I know, don't ask why, they're not parking on the bloody things)... Then lumped the snow up on the pavements. So walking to School involves climbing over 2 foot high piles of compacted snow.

THEN... They started clearing parts of the road, the curb parts, where they've been parking... So the centre is rutted sheet ice and snow, whilst the parked car bit is clear, so now the cars can 'slide off the top of the ruts' down into their parked car....

The old folk march about for their Daily Mail newspaper, determined to 'go get' that broken hip... We've had two ambulances up our Crescent already...

Is it me?

Yours sincerely

Major Fiasco

personally I think old people are ace and can't wait til I become one

What has got my goat is we don't have wheelie bins for rubbish, only for recyclable stuff (bottles, cardboard etc). So we have to put our rubbish out every Thursday morning in bin bags.

Well last Thursday it was evident with 4 inches of snow on the ground the rubbish collection wasn't going to work but the assholes on our street still decide to leave their bags of waste out. A week later said bags are still outside certain houses having been got at by foxes, stray dogs and the odd cat, leaving rubbish strewn over the pavement...tossers

PMSL......we have said old farts across from us and they have drives that slope down into their garages, they have been out everyday shoveling away with the obligatory wheelspinning to follow ( one has a bmw which is fun to watch )
This is reapeated evryday after a dusting of snow.
Today we have sheet ice so it may get more interesting as they may run out with the table salt

Lovely...
It all missed us again! We still haven't got any snow. Apart from the odd local pond that is frozen over and the frosty mornings, we haven't experienced any problems. Although we live on a bus route which the gritters seem to prioritise.

I can't believe how different it has been for us just a few miles down the coast from you Ian. I think we are probably on the same latitude to boot!

Your frustration with everyone and everything around you is understandable and I am not surprised you are feeling pee-ed off.

Keep your chin up, Summer is on the way, we are owed one from last year after all!
