7.5J 16" rims on type 81?

Will 7.5J 16" rims fit a type 81 sport?

I was thinking of stretching some 195/45's onto them. What do you lot think will these fit onto this car without any issues?

Well, the key element, is 'Without any issues' really...

On my old GT, I had the arches flaired out at the rear, and ran, for a while 225/50/15's, on 7X15, with ET25...

And that's the key with your dilema really... The ET of the 16 rim matched against the rim size... If you guess correctly (and wisely), you'll possibly get away with it...

Just a thought, and it's only my thought, but I've seen 16's on a Typ 81 Audi 80 and they looked gash. The rims just looked too big for the car and looked daft.
15's are about the biggest you'd want to be looking at.
Mine is lowered 60mm and is running 14's and that's filled the arches nicely.

I bought alloys yesterday over the bay, maybe I should have done my homework first

I went with my gut feeling saw these alloys on the bay thought they were lovely and just wanted them, hopefully they will not look to daft on the Sport....

I feel like a little kid, but I cannot give it away yet, got to wait until I get them on the car before I reveal what I have bought....

as long as they aren't Venoms you maybe safe.
I think a lot goes with what wheels they are. A lot of modern rims in 16 and 17 just don't suit the B2 80's. I've tried a few sets of wheels on mine and have always stuck with old skool styles.
First Cookies, then ATS classics, then BMW melbers, then Ronal R8's, then VW Castelett's which are now on my 80 sport.

Absolutely spot on. I've seen too many classics ruined by a set of modern rims.

You can get away with it on a coupe but not the saloons.
