Default This was fun

Had an interesting couple of days at work and I was not at work!! We had a Polish fridge turn up full of ambient product, and when the driver opened the rear doors out popped 16 illegal immigrants. Now we have a large yard to say the least and apparently they were running all over the place, one got hung up on the perimeter fence but eventually all were found and arrested afetr they had managed to get approximately 2 miles away. The Border boys have been all over the site and reckon that most are from Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran with a couple of Vietnamese thrown in. The truck ( nice bit of kit too ) has been impounded on our site by the boys and both driver and co-driver have been arrested. It just leaves me to sort out all the crap now tomorrow!!! Ho hum.

The first thing to do is get your 'holding agreement' sorted for the impounded vehicle... To keep said vehicle secure, on your premises, is a chargeable asset, and as such, you have every right to re-coup this from the parties involved... On the railways, they'd be looking at well over £100 a day to hold a vehicle on private infrastructure... Some places would be 10x that.

Next, identify any damage/loss of production/production impact (delay/hygiene infringement) and identify a fiscal value to your business...

Next, identify man hours diverted to this 'event', and again identify a fiscal value to your business...

Find out who's picking up the Fookin great invoice you're about to post them...

Tell your company legal department... (who'll crap half a detached bungalow when they see what's going on)...

Then...

Quietly look at how the fookers got out... Because that's how the hoodlums can get in...

Finally...

cc and bcc everything into everyone...

And await the excitement...

Had a few bunfights like that...

But remember, you've got the trump card parked in YOUR yard... I'd guess The Border Agency won't be too interested in the vehicle, they've probably seen enough already, and will be more interested in prosecution of the drivers.../Releasing said immigrants into the community.

Oh joy ! simmos right with keeping a log of events and time though. These things can drag on and on, and it's not like you have nothing else to do is it !
