*Sigh*
Was going to fit the borbet A's today and have noticed another problem. Looks like my wheel bolts aren't going to be long enough? After placing a bolt in the wheel I first thought i was going to still have enough length, but then noticed that some of that thread is going to be lost by the thickness of the brake disc. ![]() So, my two questions are, Exactly how much thread do i need protruding from the wheel for it to be 'safe' ? ![]() And from where can i get longer wheel bolts? cheers. Gaz. |

I may have some spare bolts you can have. I got loads with my new wheels. I'll ship them out with the cam if you want to try them, there not much use to me.

If your car has drums on the rear be carefull with the lenth of bolt you use i have had it before were i've fitted longer bolts only to find they were alittle to long and were catching on the brake shoes.
if you have discs all round then it's no prob

You should have at least 6 - 7 full turns on a bolt. I had these issues with my Ronal when i fitted the spacers. Demon Tweeks helped out and sold me 16 of their longest. Give them a call ( infact pop in as it's only down the road from you ).

And Yes you can buy longer bolts, but make sure the bolt head angle matches the alloy... You don't want a 'V' shaped head in a 'U' shaped hole... (said the actress to the Bishop) ![]()
