I run my 5 pot coupe on high octane unleaded with no real problems. admittedly I only do limited mileage but is seems ok. If in doubt I would maybe use an additive plus high octane.
I'm sure one of our more knowledgable members may be able to help more. |

And no knowledge on the bleed screw, unless there's something around the heater matrix to vent out airpockets?

I've used 95ron normal pump unleaded in my Sport since I've had it and no problems at all and that's done 8000 mile since I've had it.

28-32mpg.
Audi 80CL, best was 39.9mpg, when I was driving it like I stole it (one of many false alarms with No3 kid - from M4 J12 to M4 J16 no-one overtook me!) The V Power definitely has more "oomph" in it. In the 100, I drive 96 miles a day, steady A roads. With 95RON, I cruise on the 1st butterfly, but need to use the 2nd butterfly to overtake (you can feel this in the accelerator pedal - the spring resistance is different - bit like a twin choke weber). With 97/98RON (V Power or BP Ultimate), I can cruise and overtake without using the 2nd butterfly. I have tried this day in and day out, up and down the M4/M5 when I was working in Gloucester last year too. Very repeatable conditions. Filling up every 4 days. Steve |
