i just received this email from a friend of mine . . this just about sums it up!!

"This guy (who's wife is heavily pregnant and prone to miscarriage), sends me £200 vial PayPal and then flies up from Southampton to see the Renault 5. I picked him up at Edinburgh, it all went well.

He is pensive, nervous and takes deep breaths before getting out the car.

He walks over to the red Renault and runs his finger along the little "crack" in the paintwork that I mentioned in the advert.

He turns round, "face plants", and starts moaning a muffled "no, no, no" etc.

He comes right up to me and says..

"As soon as I saw it - it was game-over - there was no coming back".

I found this amusing, if a little disappointing. Decide to "blank" his reaction and proceed with the usual haggling - even though we agreed on a price.

But, as he said, there was no coming back.

Back to the car and he admitted to being a "anally retentive OCD person with an obsession with perfection".

It was never going to happen. He called his mum a few times and I apologised for the hassle and dropped him off at the airport again.

Ach well. Ebay it is then.
