but quickly goes back to the way it was, especially on a cold morning . .

some times a good thin engine flush and service can help, with GOOD OIL.
Castrol, Mobil 1, Quantum, etc, etc, 15-40 semi or 10-60 fully synthetic

The biggest problem I've always had with 5 cylinder engines is them sounding tappety after a good leadfoot workout. New, good oil and still I get it, maybe an oil cooler might be a good bet ?

I can live with the odd rattle when cold unless it takes ages to go away.
