Default Gas Cooker

Hi all,

I've got a gas cooker that came with my flat when I bought the place.

I've never had a gas cooker before and want to change it to electric.

My question is: Am I allowed to disconnect the gas at the back myself or am I required to get someone 'gas qualified' to do it?

Keep the gas, if you have a power cut you still have another option and you can light yer fag on it easier too

Most gas cookers have a bayonet quick release hose which close the supply automatically (legal).
If it has a tap behind the cooker you can turn it off and use a spanner which is also legal,
but I would recommend you then screw a blank on afterwards.
If you have to cut the pipe then that is a NO NO.
