Hello I'm after a rear beam/axle for my 1981 audi 80 gl.
I can collect anytime & bring tools to remove it myself If needed. If anyone knows of any breaking & can point me in the right direction that would be great, please PM me with any details. Thanks. |

I can't help at the moment but I can tell you that any Audi 80/90 Coupe rear axle will fit. I had I put a 1991 rear axel onto my Coupe GT to upgrade it to discs (and repair the rear bushes). It was very easy to do and looked great. Most scrap yards should have a suitable Audi.

That sounds very promising, So just confirm for me a later model, 86 onwards (b3) will fit ok? I was thinking about that but couldn't really find any info thought it'd be good with the discs on the back. Would it then just a case of changing the handbrake cable & brake lines?

Anything upto 1994 I believe but please look carefully before taking anything off. As I remember I didn't have to change the handbrake cables but I did have to make up two short lengths of copper pipe to connect the existing hydraulic system to the new disc brake trailing arm. I fitted new discs and pads and it worked like a dream - took less than a day. Below is the car I upgraded using parts from a 1991 Audi 80 1.8i - it was back in 2001!

If u also have idea about brake upgrade - don't forget B3's have 4x108, unlike B2's 4x100 [with some exceptions]
