Default RollCages!! Talk To Me.

Well with the car pretty much stripped to a bare shell now . . Its about time i started paying a lot more attention to the roll cage side of thing's.

Im looking to get a FIA approved cage that joins on to the strut tops to strut tops. including door bars. Anyone any clue as to were i can get one spec'd for WR . . or there is any information on them being done already. I have heard custom cages make a lot of bespoke ones for impreza's and other more modern performance cars. Just wondering if there's anyone else out there people on here have had experience off. T45 Steel I have heard is the best to use.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. So far i know i will keep the standard dash but will be heavily changed and custom made when we get to it.

Well I have decided to plan and budget for the more expensive part's with the new job on the horizon. Plus it's not a place i really want to scrimp on, brakes ,cage, suspension.

Loads more to do..what's best suspension set up..what brake's..chassis seam welding. . were to get the shell blasted..powdercoating ....One at i time i suppose

For a decent cage, fully multipoint weld in will cost around £1500 in mild steel and £2400+ in T45.
Custom cages do them for the quattro, they supply our WRC cages as well as Touring cars etc. You will have to drop shell off with them. Otherwise you can buy the kit tubing/mounting point plates etc and get someone else to weld it in.... runs more risk and could prob cost similar in longrun.

The effort to get a cage right in a shell is alot of work.

Id much rather "Even with the added expense"(speaking like i have money)lol, that may happen(or may not as rightly pointed out) have the shell dropped off to a reputable and well known and respected firm.

Ive sent P&P cages a email . . Will forward the same email onto custom cages just now.

Would you say the T45 is worth the extra few hundred pound. Or is mild steel more than up to the job of Tarmac rallies .Hill climbs and track days

Have a look on google for the MSA blue book of regulations, you can download it as a PDF, that tells you everything you need to know for cages and there is lots and lots of cage company adverts within all the rules, if you can't find it PM me your email address and I will forward it to you when I am at my desk tomorrow

I'd nip out tonight under the cover of dark and borrow some scaffolding tube then make your own using a pipe bender ... Job done
