Default Been a crap week but hey its the weekend

Been a really shitty week for several reasons, car related the battery died on Monday - it had given me several warnings, namely first on 3rd of January after not being used for week and its been slow turning over since then if i think about it. Managed to bump start it down the hill on Monday morning and arranged to take it into one of the local Green Flag agents at tea time, it started just at 5 o'clock, - the garage would be open til six, got stuck on M62 due a wagon broken down nr the M1 intersection, finally got to the garage with dimming electrics at 6.35 - all shut up. Turned car off and yes it was dead, bollocks I thought. Rang my mate at the garage and he came straight down - he'd got a battery that afternoon for me. then realised the battery that was in it was too small and the space behind the battery was packed with pieces of wood to hold it place !!

New battery fitted and job was a good un until Wednesday when the exhaust decided to make love to the back axle on the way home. The exhaust was removed and welded up for the MOT last May because we couldn't source a new twin pipe system for the B3 16V.

Exhaust tied up with wire and a whole new de-cat system has been arranged for a week tomorrow.

Now I could have prevented both these by doing something about each sooner, but other events have tended me to lose focus. Sorry car, I shall start treating you better my little red devil - its easy to forget you'll be 19 years old in April.

Sorry for the ramble, its good to know I'm in good company with Martyn, Steve, Rich and Ian & Dom all on board as I write this - Good men all, to echo Groomus the other night , the daily dose of this site is almost priceless

I apologise in advance for any sub standard post I may make tonight under the influence of something red, australian and wet and something brown, indian and hot

hang in there bud, 2 years ago dealer tried to tag me for a rear box for the RS4 I asked why, he said the mounting bracket had broken off..... well bloody well weld it back on then you dick!! went down like a lead fart... took it to an exhaust place... 5 mins later bracket fixed and new rubber mount fitted....cost...free better than a new back box

You have had a dissapoining week regarding work so you also looks like you missed out on something else as well.

Really sorry about that Dave,if you find another I have a black rear spoiler for it

have a good night on the piss, have a few good scoops and put this week behind you

Look on the bright side, you didn,t change your starter motor.(battery)I did.
My exhaust on my blue q90 dropped on a long journey. The constant velocity joint, had cut a slot through the pipe. With the pressure(weight),the oil seal in the diff also went.
Now I always check my hangers, periodically.(stitch in time.)

Thanks Karl

I remember you had an exhaust problem with your red one on the way home from Audi's in the Park !!

Didn't mean to rant earlier - its just been a bad week - the car problems just added to the rest of the shit, to be honest.

Just makes you think though, I've been using 80's as daily drivers now since 1996, and I still love em , but the first two were 7 and 5 years when I bought them, and then suddenly I realise my car is 19 years old next month where does time go ffs.
