Default Vacuum hose missing. AAN. Why?

I'm not the most technically minded person so please put me right if I'm talking rubbish.
Went to look at a URS4 today and noticed that a vacuum type connector was missing it's hose. I think it was located near the top of the wastegate. Does it normally head into the airbox?
Any idea why it would be off?
The wastegate stub wasn't plugged.

Don't worry, that's normal. There shouldn't/needn't be a hose connected there.

Don't worry lots of people have said that over the years, the pipe is there so that the diaphram in the wastegate can be pressure tested.
