Front suspension advice

I have started to get a banging/hollow rattling noise from the front o/s.

When I go hard over a bump the whole front of the car can move across the road

I jacked the car up and can only find small movement from side to side of the wheel, nothing at all top to bottom.

Returned the car to the ground and did the push test on the front wings. The o/s is definitely easier to push down on than the n/s.

This seems to point to the strut being u.s.

But I noticed that strut top mountings seem to go aswell. Would that give the same symptoms as above?

Looking to try and get an answer before I start throwing money around.

top mounts can knock jack the car up and see if the wheel moves up and down also check the antiroll
bar drop links the ones from the suspension leg to the rollbar (if fitted)

strut bearings on mine are ''knocky'' will be doing them soon....

but skipping across the road sounds like dampers/shocks...??...pretty bloody dangerous..

or is it just the 'play' elsewhere causing it...???
