Default scirocco mk1 4x4

Few cans, surfing the net and saw pics of my 1st real car-scirocco mk1.(Love them.)
How easy would it be to convert one, to 4wd?Only an idea.
I loved my Scirocco, but would be even better 4x4.

My mate used to own a brown W plate scirocco storm. Very nice looking car. As for a 4wd conversion. Would be a hell of a lot of work, but by no means impossible.

Mike Truluck who founded Jabbasport VW specialists had a light blue storm mk1 that he converted to 4wd and an a4 1.8t engine converted to a G60 supercharger 300hp if i remember correctly in 1999.

Just found a pdf of a magazine article of it here:

Simple answer, alot of time and alot of money..... The people who do these sort of conversions themselves are not right in the head (I should know i'm one of them!).

You'd need a haldex system and alot of custom fabrication.... Haldex is in esscence shite and as 4WD systems go, pretty pointless in my opinion. For the work involved you could have alot more fun with one...

As a side note i happen to know that an Audi 5cylinder lump and Quattro system will just about squeeze in there
