Thankfully our classic audis can not incorporate this technology so we are OK.

Also I have a feeling UK car ownership is turning Japanese. Over there they keep new cars and sell all their 5 year old vehicles in order to meet emissions and safety regs etc.

I recently paid £180 for my road tax on my sport for 12 months! My Berlingo costs £102 for 6 months!!! They are trying to bankrupt all us classic car owners; we need to revolt before its too late.. The problem is most classic car owners are pretty classic themselves (no offence to anyone) and know one can be bothered to make a fuss.

I hope they do not bring out any law that says we have to sell our cars for new ones. I will be f**king disgusted.

it's already too late.

Legislation made common sense and decency obsolete years ago.

Most countries now have developed with free use of private personal transport. So a great many of us need our cars to cope. Public transport is woefully inadequate, while at the same time being far from cost effective.

We enthusiasts like our cars, so we put up with the insanity. Where we need our cars, we also put up with the insanity.

A nationwide strike by all would be interesting. It was being quoted that the snow was costing millions to the economy where people were unable to get to work.
I wonder what the cost to the economy would be if people decided they no longer wished to afford to go to work?

So much bullshit rhetoric and badly thought out schemes from the people that we, the idiots voted for. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

how can it justified that older cars of the 80's vintage or regarded as classics are charged the same as a car registered by the year 2000?

so a classic car does a few thousand miles per year IF that, comes out when its dry and sunny yet a newer car of less than 10 yearsold which gets driven say 30,000 miles per year gets charged the same?

The older the car the cheaper the tax. IMHO

"The penalty was calculated based on the unnamed motorist's wealth"

My fine would be about £5.
