We have gone to change the master cylinder today on my 1988 WR, The original was from the ATE system (girling g60 calipers if thats any use). The replacement product i bought was a Hitec H417150, they look just alike on the outside but after removing the old one, the collar on the new one was a larger diametre and there was a plastic cup still left where to fit the master cylinder, which didnt allow the new one to fit.
Is this some kind of modification to the origonal product and there is a way to fit it or is it just the wrong part?? Many thanks, Andy |

Andy, the only thing I can suggest is to take out the plastic cup, and see if you can figure out why it is there?
If it has a job and it has to stay, then the M/C is wrong and you should exhange it If it looks like it is just a spacer to fit a M/C of x dia, into a servo of y, then try it without it sorry a few beers in, hope i'm not talking rubbish ![]() |

The one that I was sent had a much bigger diameter collar that would not fit the servo. It fits an Audi 100 (allegedly) but not the WR. Just order a genuine part (bite hard and accept the extra cost)and it saves the embarassment....... |
