I have seen this on Pistonheads, and am tempted! Only joking, but rare as hen's teeth these days, and looks completely unmolested just like I like 'em.

Reminds me of my first ever car, identical except that mine was Caspian Blue and an 84 A Plate. I just love them wheel trims!

I'd absolutely love to have a black mk1 escort.
![]() Does anyone know what it's like to own a classic Ford, with regards to availability to parts etc...? In comparison to the UR, which is a proper pain in the arse. ![]()

The parts for MK1 and MK2 Escorts are silly money now, as are the cars. I had a 1985 MK3 XR3i which I sold in March this year, and that was a bugger to get some parts for, which came as a surprise given how many there were made.

yeah i have a 77 mk 2 escort with a 2.0 zetec fitted and rebuilding a mk 1 1300 GT..... parts availability is good and you can get pretty much anything... provided your willing to pay... but like everything else ultra rare items are silly money but a lot of stuff is starting to be reproduced.... as far as living with and using them theyre uncomfortable draughty noisy things but once you get it sideways on full opposite lock you forget all that... mines a bit ill at the moment... low oil pressure.. but id take a UR over it any day....
