Default Oil light issue

Thought you might like to hear of my Oil lamp in the dash issue I have had for a while.
Began to think the oil pressure was dropping at tickover due to engine wear, as the lamp started to light up dimly and then brighter and then off and then dimply etc only at 800rpm.
Well this weekend I'd had enough and checked the switches...no issue there, Got hold of the control unit for the lamp and buzzer and the lamp went out and stayed out, removed and cleaned all the contacts, shoved it back in and no issues since. Not sure how this unit works but something to remember for the future...
