Default Cracked exhaust manifold

What is my best course of action for sorting out my cracked manifold (off a 1982 200 5T, engine code WJ)? Repair, replace?

Default manifold

any decent welder should be able , i did it , v grooved the cracks slightly, buzzed it ap /ground back and same again, it was no problem, BUT I DID REPLACE THE ENGINE MOUNT ON THAT SIDE just to be sure that the manifold took less strain

Gave the manifold to a guy at a local fabrication / welding workshop - he seemed to think he could weld it - and for £20/30!!

There is about a 5mm gap between the sump and crossmember - should it be more? Where can new mounts be purchased?

Default manifold

5mm sounds a bit tight, try vag parts, your local dealer, or south hereford audi , but quattro corner is likely your best bet i would think that the ur quattro mount is the same,i certainly used one on my 2005t no probs, , the mounts get tired over the years, coupled with the heat on ths exhaust side of the engine, if you replace it buy or fabricate a heat shield to help with the heat soak.
regards chris
