Borbet A's 7.5" wide 195/50/16's

right, the wheels I've found are Borbet A's, 16" by 7.5" inch.

tires are 195/50/16 . stud pattern 4x108 . I don't yet know the offset, but apparently they are ford fitment. So could that mean they could be ET38?

All i know is they didn't fit on a pug 106.. & neither did they fit the previous owners car who paid £450 for them!

Asking price is £340? hows it sounding so far?

will they fit my car? If theses are to fit my car, what offset -/+ min/max am i looking for wen i go to see them?

Wow, nice wheels. Typically these are very expensive but look the dogs. Difficult to tell if they are a good price or not without seeing the condition to be honest but they do generally fetch a premium.

Offset range needs to be between ET38 and ET52 (+/-) 7mm to go on withouts upsetting things too much.

Will you be keeping the tyres? What condition are they and do the sizes fit without buggering the speedo readings. Always be careful with 2nd hand tyres.

Finally check the spigot sizes. 57.1mm is standard Audi size. If the wheel spigot is too small then you will have to find someplace to machine the centres out. Oversized and you will need some spigot rings.

Personally I would go 15 rather than 16 but we all know that by now. And remember there a re plenty of borbet A's out there so don't be rushed. If you're not sure or convinced walk away

the only other thing that would concern me (and I always struggle a bit with this) is the combined impact of a wider wheel (7.5 inch vs 6inch as standard) and a change in offset. I would want be sure I wasn't going to foul up any clearances, cause any rubbings etc.

so can anyone clarify what 'standard ford' is?

I'm thinking it is ET38? is that right?

So can anyone clever on here work out if ET38, on a 7.5" wide 16 inch wheel with 195/50/16 tires will clear everything under the car?

its slightly more than 38, but people have fitted ford fitment alloys to old audis before now...

Has any one on here fitted an ET35 to a coupe, or coupe quattro before?

7.5x16 borbet a's are et20, majority of fords are 4x108 but im not sure what the centre bore is. The price you mentioned above is expensive unless theyre mint. Have they got flat centre caps or the large hex nut cap?

Theres no absolute law on offset. I know people who have fitted ET20's onto Audis. But you run the risk of upsetting the handling, tracking problems, fitment etc. I think the lower the offset the wider you will push the wheels out giving a wider track.

So if I understand correctly on ET35 your wheels will push outwards towards the wheel arch. Add in the wider wheel and according to the calculator I provided you are looking to move each wheel towards the outside wheel arch by 29mm.

So you will need to check you have enough space to tolerate this movement. Don't forget your tyres should not protude beyond the wheel arch. That is illegal and a nice policeman may be tempted to have a word. Of course fitting wheel arch extensions gets around that.

Personally I'd take a punt on ET35, but that's not a reccomendation, endorsement blah blah blah. Get your tape measure out
