Someone on the quattro forum started this and been at it a long time not sure if it is finished yet or not but has been a bit of a nightmare project by all accounts. Will certainly be different once finished.

Few things to look out for. You need to alter the way the fuel tank vent system works, otherwise your charger will pressurise the fuel tank!
I would replace the metering head with that of an early ur due to changes in the flow rates and way it operates with a presurised system. It will need more fuel and the timing advanced, bigger fuel pump and injector's needed. It's all fairly straight forward if it's a K-Jet to be ho9nest. I was going to supercharge my 90 but plans have changed!!! The A6 may have it now though!!!
You will need to give the brakes some vacuum too. If the car's supercharged then at no point will the manifold be in vacuum so your brakes will get none at all! You can get round this with a suction-jet-pump from a TT 1.8T. Its a simple by pass valve that causes vacuum via a venturi and non return valve.
You may need to make a bypass system for boost pressure too that releases boost when you let the throlttle off or you may get terrible shunting when letting off from high revs as unlike a turbo, the super charger will still be producing big boost that the engine cant use. This makes the engine continue to accelarate as some boost will leak past the throttle valve. This is also a problem at idle and part throittle. You only really want it producing boost at high throttle applications.

I shall now be quiet as this post is getting far too long! SORRY!

Hi Guys, Thanks for all of this. Couple of Questions.
The fuel tank vent system, how do we alter it?
How easy is it to find a metering head from an old UR?
Would you mind if I got my guy to speak with you for more advice?

Cheers

Dom

What you need is the carbon canister system from a later (7A's had it) with the electric shut of valves. You need the valves to shut whilst the throttle open or when there's boost and then open at idle or overrun, depending on how you set the system up. This will allow the tank to vent properly without causing issues.
It's simple enough to wire them up to the throttle switch for operation.

You may find your car alrerady has the system and you just need to alter how it works.

I'm going to be running stand alone on mine, even tho you are right K-Jet can take care of it. Going for stand alone so can map it how i want. Plus for the over boost, i'll be using an after market dump valve set-up. Brakes are something i have not thought about yet as don't know what set up i will be using and smoothing the engine bay at the same time.

When i get home ( which is next week ) i will try get some more pictures for you and let you know how it goes.
