right, i got the bolts and the spigots for the my new borbets, Soooooo i finely fitted them on the car sat night.
took the car out for a trail run on sunday and as soon as i got above 40mph the steering wheel started to shake and as i went on to 50mph and up to 60mph the car was shaking quite badly. ![]() could this just be a matter of balancing? as one of the wheels had its tire removed and refitted before i got them. (the previous owner was trying another tire size)Would a tire being removed and then refitted cause an un balance? |

Re-balance would be the place to start and check the wheels are flush with the hub too with no crud between the faces. Did the spigots fit perfectly flush with the wheel when fitted?
Jack up car and spin each wheel whilst looking at it from the front to double check it isn't wobbling....

righto, i'm going to take the wheel to be balanced, however what i've decided to do it take the suspect wheel off and fit one of the original 14's.. I hoping if it is indeed that wheel that needs balancing, the shaking will go away with the one of the old wheels fitted in its place.
One concern is, will it be ok to run that one front 195/60/14inch wheel together with the three other 195/50/16 inchers? I'm only taking it 10 miles or so, will this give me any serious problems? transmission wise? what with it being 4wd? ![]() |

Do what 20vcqdriver said to do and get wheel balanced. Don't go driving with three 16 inch wheels and one 14 inch. Apart from the fact the car will unstable and dangerous, it is illegal to have different size wheels/tyres across the axle. If you get pulled over by a traffic cop you'll be in serious shit!
Get your wheel balanced etc and go from there! |

I guess i was just thinking they wern't much diferance with there being about a 15mm outside size increase between the 16's and 14's. |
