lol or just how do people know to sit at 54mph on the motorway so that your just about on the limiter and got and no power to overtake! but sit with your foot on the floor riding the limiter and you slowly catch them up....again this you'll know if you to are a lorry driver

and people that slow down to 40 just in front of a 50mph speed camera......

Just in case they've lowered the speed limit and old Doris might get a ticket..........

been there, done it, went to court, coppers were arses, so were the magistrates. Got done over with a £600 fine plus £1500 solicitors fees. I challenged based on the reliability on the Li120 laser gun. Had the tape analysed by an expert and the police only managed to get 0.8 seconds of error free speed recorded in a 15 second video clip but apparently thats all thats needed to get a conviction. Long story which just gets me wound up to be honest but I am a lot more careful now when going through any sort of speed camera area.

You should have recieved your NIP within 14 days unless there are extenuating circumstances. If you are saying 18 days then you may have a case. Sometimes the police will try on a fixed penalty anyway as most people would simply pay up. Also be mindful about not signing as it's illegal and may be costly.

http://www.pepipoo.com/ is a good website to help on legal stuff. However if you are going to challenge then take proper legal advise if at all possible.

Good luck but believe me the odds are weighted heavily against you

Gabriel i'm a little confused, you've admitted to the speeding but then stated you sold the car the week before?

Specs read front plates.

If an obstruction were to happen to the plate, such as leaves or a plastic bag accidentally getting sucked onto it, the cameras cant read the number and a ticket cant be issued.
Its because any non read on the system forces a human to have a look and if he cant read it-ALL of it ( theyre not allowed to trawl the database until they get a match.. ) then it gets dumped because theres more fish in the sea....thats the way they work.
If the front plate were to fall off somehow due to loose screws or because youd just hit a big fecking pheasant Emjay and you had to stop and retrieve it but couldnt refit it before you continued on your journey, itd mean the specs wouldnt have a number plate to read.....however you really should go get it fixed up soon as if you get pulled its only a £30 fine none endorseable.........ahem.

Best to get a tony bliar mask and keep the visors down....makes identification so very much harder.......

and therein lies a big problem with this system. If you comit any other crime then it is upto the police to prove you to be guilty based on evidence they collect. It's fundamental brick in our justice system. Innocent until proven guilty.

However for the purpose of speeding offences your are automatically deemed guilty until you can prove your innocence so a Tony Blair mask would make no sodding difference. By signing the NIP your are effectively incriminating your self in the process and your right to "remain silent" and have the law makers prove your guilt is gone.

Don't get me wrong, I am not condoning speeding by any stretch. You speed, you take the risk, you take the consequences. Simple as!. But the system in which the law is applied is a bit of a stinker.

At the end of the day who is the more dangerous a driver?. Someone driving at 35mph in a 30 zone, driving to the conditions, fully alert or someone who is driving at 25 in a 30 texting their mates on the mobile and totally oblivious to their environment.

And here's me telling dandan to get it off his chest
