The bore of the 2309cc head is slightly bigger but apparently the head gasket compensates OK. The actual combustion chamber is smaller than the bore. You'll have to adapt the K-Jet injectors to fit in the 20v manifold as the electric 7A one's are much larger diameter than the CIS ones, and pipes to fit (the pipes will be too short as the 10v's not crossflow) unless you're fitting the loom and 7A ecu?

I'm about to do this with the 2144cc 10v in my 200T.

Gutted cos I just scrapped my 20v quattro coupe as I literally couldn't give it away!!! - You could've had that one!

I would try the K-Jet route to start with. If you can't get it perfect (not too hard) then think about the EFI route but it's a lot more work/expence. If you did that you may aswell go the whole hog n stick a 3B in it!
I'd fit a 20v head and all you need to do injection system wise is make some small plastic bushes t0o hold the K-Jet nozzles in the 7A manifold. Make sure you get the tubular mnaifold for the &a head too, NOT the cast one.

Here's a pic of mine, showing the manifold - they're a work of art and give more power.

If you need any advise/help I'd be happy to PM my number.

got tubular manifold and downpipe here if need be
I'd check water and oil gallerys match first as I'm sure they are offset on 20v compared to 10v... i should know with a few 7a and kv lumps in the workshop....

I'm pretty sure you're right Jay, you'll probably struggle with the front water gallery, I think there'd the loads of 20v's on top of KV's if it was a simple conversion....

Is that also true of the difference between the turbo'd 10 and 20v heads??? I'll be gutted if they're different?
So is the whole block defferent then? Seems a big engineering excersice to change the block AND head when they went 20v? I know the 20v turbo heads have different external water outlets for the water manifold and turbo cooling but that's easy to get around. It's the internal jackets I'm now worried about!!!!

theres a few threads on www.motorgeek.com about ghetto 20vs which is a 7a head on n/a 10v bottom end which gives low compression, therefor ideal for turbo'ing. get searching on there i'm sure you'll fnd something
