Default 86 CQ windscreen

Anyone got a windscreen for a 1986 coupe Quattro I can buy? My hubby just fitted my spare one in my car, went to give the rubber a final thump, and the screen broke

What a bugger! I'll be doing the same sometime soon (removing and re installing the screen on my cq). Gawd I just do not want this to happen.. Your hubby has my condolences.. all that work and gone in an instant. Hope you find one, they can't be that hard to source I hope. Good luck with the next attempt.

Morning,

It's a real common thing to break the screens on removal/refitting, he's a brave man I would even dare attempt mine, chickened out and got someone else to do it!

Tell him to be careful with the windscreen rubber, they're usually harder to source than the screen itself.

I remember a while ago I was researching getting a spare for my 80, just in case. Pilkington Glass said they could make one for me to order, they did list the coupe also, try the below link... I emailed them and they got back to me with a price in a day or two.

Brgds,

Simon

I had to get a new windscreen made up for my quattro, I wanted it with bronze tint. Green tint was available quite easily and in fact I still have the green one in my garage.
Unfortunately , it was sold as part of the deal in selling the cq. However, the chap who has bought the cq may not want it....but I'll not know until next week-end.2nd/3rd April.

Windscreen rubber was very pricey IIRC, over a £100 i think.
