Default Sealing cord for rear lights

Hi,

Does anyone have 2-3 metres of the genuine Audi 'Sealing Cord' they would like to sell to me. It's for the rear lights to the body on my Cabrio. Just been into the dealer and you have to buy 10 metres for over £40
Part number - AKD 497 010 04R10

Cheaper method...
Peel old stuff from old lense, pick out any bits of grit, roll it around in your hands to soften, then roll it in to a thin sausage on a flat surface before applying it to new lense...tried and tested, and works a treat!

Word of caution- while recycling the old sealant works,(I've done the same) it has lost some of its pliability and might allow some water through; maybe not immediately, but sooner or later. So it is worth obtaining fresh stuff.

Thanks very much for your replies and the tip of reuse. I have reused the stuff myself in the past but unfortunately, this time I don't have any old stuff! I'm fitting a new centre lights panel on the boot lid and its supplied without sealant. The eBay stuff may be the way to go but I think it needs to be thicker than 6mm - I'll search to see what else is available down that route. In the meantime - anybody else?

The Audi stuff was about the same size. I had several rolls of it, but it's all gone AWOL in several home moves...

I asked about the ebay stuff a while ago, I was advised by the seller that you can double it up and reroll if you want to make it thicker. ( this was the stuff on this listing )

That's worth considering, especially given that I've reused old stuff before in a similar way.
