Relays!

Hi all, recently discovered that my rad fans aren,t working(B4 tdi avant) and found I have a relay missing! Can someone tell me the relay number and ampage so I can replace please?

Have you checked your fans by taking off the temp sensor plug at the base of the radiator and shorting across the plug? I had issues recently and was doubting the fan, but found out that they were in fact working ok. Problem was elsewhere.

That is one of the things I intend to try but I still need the 2nd stage relay and the after-run relay as they are both missing! I have the first stage relay, am I to assume that the 2nd stage relay is the same? Also missing is the first stage fuse. the rad sender has packed up leaving the fans permanently on,hence someone,s removal of the relays/fuses.

Hi Tony
Unfortunately i haven't got my TDI anymore so i cant really help with what relays you will need (i assume a S2 and defo S6'S are different) If you find out what part numbers you need i may have them.

Hi Shaun, thanks anyway, I think I,ve solved the problem. Today I bought the stage 2 relay and replaced the missing fuses, bought a replacement thermal switch, took off the electrical connector and bridged the cables and the fans instantly came on! Unfortunately I have been supplied with a new 2 pin thermal switch when in fact mine is a 3 pin in spite of being assured that the 3 pin is only for cars with air-con! So, tomorrow a 3 pin arrives and that should end my fan problems, thanks to you and all who helped!

Hi Anyone have any ideas over this. Got no direction indicators got hazards but no indicators. Car is a QC20v done all the usual checks fuses ect, got all lights car is perfect apart from no indicators, anyone got any ideas or is this a trip to the local Audi Garage. dont really want to start probing aroung and cause more work than neccasary. Cheers

Wipers working? If no, check fuse number 15, if yes, try different switch.
