in this climate of the credit crunch it begars belief it really does. To me anyway

it will hit the fans in the pockets to pay for this guy... see how long it is before no one goes to the game because the cost of a ticket is beyond them.

Well, to be honest I'm a bit embarrassed by all this. He is the worlds best football player and if someones willing to pay the money,,well more fool them.
But how would it affect the rest of the team?
Would they really bond- after all it is a team sport and if some new guy is earning 10 times you its bound to create tension.
Would they want parity?!?!
It leaves a slightly bad taste in my mouth to be honest.
And don't forget this was the opening bid. Christ knows what they'll go up to if they really want him.
What sort of stick would he get from the crowd (down to earth blokes on £500 a week) if he has an off game?
I don't pay his wages with my tickets- TV deals do that to be honest, and it wont be long before ticket prices are slashed at City IMO,
but its not really any different than Chelsea and Blackburn before them have done. the top 4s monopoly has to be broken and money seems to be the only way to do it now. What next? The Pope as club chaplain?
But look at the unease at Chelsea over their financial future.

But wouldn't it be ******* fantastic to see him playing for city every week!!!!!!
