forgot to add...the 170 km is made up from pushing it, and driving round to the workshop or pulling on and off trailors...

Just to add though, although I love a good low mileage car, that is sacrilege in every respect of the word to leave it lying around for no one to enjoy.

The Quattro was a car that was meant to be driven and enjoyed.

I know that car also!. I was once the FM manager for VAG group in Milton Keynes, they were like the local factory dealer. I belive that VAG group has first dibs on it if ever it is sold.
VAG group have a number of "classics" in their warehouse that they can wheel out for the press etc incl a very late UK beetle (weird seeing it 30 ft up on a rack!), a silver mk1 GTI with BBS body kit, that I've seen in many mags and a 60's Skoda felicia cabrio. I worked there up to 1999 so presume that they still have them, although I know their warehousing has now been outsourced.

It was a dream job for me but the money from the city lured me away!!, don't get me started on what used to be thrown away! They used to have big skips outside the warehouse and just couldn't be bothered sorting out dealer returned stock so in it all went. Didn't matter if it was a Oval beetle bootlid or a A8 exhaust system.
Funny really they used to have a terrible problem with theiving from the warehouse but the chavs were'nt interested in rare early stuff but merely radio's etc. We once got the police involved, as usual all the fire alarms would go off and we were standing around in a layby that was adjacent to the warehouse on a public road and you could see all the stuff thrown over the wall!!!
Generally when I worked there VW were not interested in the historical side and when they moved to Milton Keynes from Surrey in the early 80's anything in the warehouse that was not "current" was landfilled. So generally the only old stuff that was about came back from closing down dealers and as said that was normally skipped.

Incidentally, every car had somewhere around 20 to 40km put on them in testing before they left the factory.
