Hi all,
I am having some problems with my type 44 2.2 KV. it fires up and revs on the throttle pedal - sometimes bogs down a little, but as soon as I take my foot off the pedal it wont hold any revs and dies. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks Mark |

Sounds like you may have a possible induction leak. Look for any obvious splits on the intake rubber elbow or pipework that goes to the inlet manifold.
Splits or damage may also be detected by listening for a tell-tale hissing/sucking sound. |

Just to update, it was indeed a leak on the intake elbow pipe. There was a pipe running off the intake elbow which had come loose. I reattached it and its holding revs again.
Thanks once again for your help Mr Lefthooker! The pipe which I reattached leads from the intake elbow to the a small canister in the drivers wing, with a wiring plug out the top. Just out of interest, what is this - I can't say I have ever noticed this before as it is well tucked in the wing and out of sight? |

Hi, it's a charcoal canister, I think fuel vapour gets vented through it?! don't really know!
(or if it's a really small cylinder it could be a fuel pressure regulator) Last edited by missfire; 02-08-14 at 11:24 PM. |
