Alright guys im looking at doing a porche front brake conversion on the s4, thing is the coversion bracket, I know apikol sell one for $240 but I have someone who could make some if I can get the right measurements and specifications :-) so my massive favour is if anyone has made brought or fitted any of these brackets and could share some info :-) thanks in advance Ade

Have you got ufo's on your at present?if so have a look at this
http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49445 I have always found hp2s to be really good brakes,only down side is they are a big hefty.they are very cheap to buy aswell i know jp(jnl racing) had over 500bhp and still had the hp2s on his s6 and found them perfectly good until he upped the power to over 650 ish |

I like my HP2s.
There are a number positives- Readily available. If a bit heavy. But overall, not significantly heavier than the UFO setup, if at all. Disks are cheap from euro car parts. Pads are a straight forward buy, too. Downside? The mods I mentioned earlier. But you need mods for the Porsche, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did the hp2s come on as standard? Any later models?

UrS6, B5 S4, probably something else. Over here, in latvia, usual way is getting UrS6 struts and calipers to do bolt on upgrade.

Also, A8, etc. the basic parts are fairly common with minor differences, across a whole load of models- disks (diameter 314 or 323mm), pads, callipers (for 314 or 323mm).
However, the suspension/struts that they bolt too vary. S6 struts are a straight bolt on upgrade as far as I can determine, for Type44 100/200 (but the bottom ball pin is a different size), Type44 early and late chassis-V8, A100/ur-S4, A6/urS6. The mounting plate on the strut is pretty common across a large range of cars, and seemingly only the size/thread of the mounting holes makes any difference.

So guys what do you think? Hp2 is the way to go? I know il be paying around £600 for a porche setup if not a little more. How much would a hp2 setup set me back?
