Think i have a problem with the electric radiator fan on my type 85 coupe quattro.
When it gets hot the fan only comes on for a second or two, then off. But Im sure it used to stay on for much longer? anybody experienced this? Im sure its shutting off too soon. Could it be a relay problem? or the temp sensor switch in the bottom of the had? Last edited by Gaz; 04-11-13 at 03:44 PM. |

Fans usually runs for longer than a few seconds, is the engine getting to overtemp at all?
How long have you looked at it switching on and off as the temp. varies? Can only suggest you short out the radiator fan thermo switch contacts, which should put a permanent supply on to the fan motor via the fan relay J26. If fan is still intermittent then look at relay contacts. --------------------------------------- 1985 Coupe GT 2.0 litre. 1985 Coupe GT 1.8 litre. Last edited by Haydn44; 05-11-13 at 10:56 PM. |
