Afternoon all, I was hoping I would have to post as I was looking at doing some investigating, but as the weather has turned naff, I thought I'd see what you people thought. The car is a 93 ABC 2.6 coupe auto, the gear change is very smooth, no nasty clinks etc. However, after recently havin to drive through a few puddles, it has develope a strange noise when changing into top. I can only describe the noise as a squeak, it almost sounds identical to the sound of someone cleaning windows. Once the gear has been engaged all is fine, there is no noise as it drops down to 3rd, and no noise in any other gear. The "sqeak" becomes moderately louder once the car is at operating temp.
Sorry for the vague description, I was hoping to get out and drop the oil out of the box and replace the filter etc, but the weather is a nightmare. Any thoughts ? Sam
