Default Sad to see this in a scrapyard....

Found this in the local breakers in Stoke on Trent. Its an Audi 100 saloon, 5 cylinder injection manual. Its in brilliant condition, not a spot of rust and the paintwork is gleaming! The paint under the wheelarches is spotless too. Apart from a bit of wear on the drivers seat the interior is mint. the mileage was 202k but it looked more like a 50k car. There is slight damage on the drivers wing, caused by the forklift.

The towbar looked new, as did the exhaust. The underbonnet area was free of oil and has been polished up.... minor detailing I suppose! It had obviously been loved by its previous owner.

Why do motors like this end up being scrapped? there was no obvious reason for it being in there. The yard owners dont sell cars out of the yard, just crush them after a few weeks. Such a pity. Annoying for me as its in much better condition than the 100 I have at home in the garage!

If only id found it first........

bet it was a case of broke down because of something relatively simple but it was either not worth spending money for the parts needed or they couldn't get the part from Audi so ended up scrapping her.

I think once they send the log book off as scrap its difficult to get them re-registered. On top of that they dont want any come back after selling "scrapped" cars, either from the customers or the DVLA.

Think I saw your Audi at the Breakfast club meet today, I was in the Allegro!

Gah! its still annoying to think of it being wasted. Such a GREAT colour too. If I had that on the drive id be a 24hr tripod (to coin a phrase)

I turned out this morning in my 100 but left soon after when there was no breakfast to be had!

What time is breakfast anyway?

anytime before 2pm on a Sunday is OK in our house.

What's the car in the background next to the Landrover? I think it may be another Audi 80 Avant from the late 60's, they do seem to be everywhere at the moment.

The car in the background is a very well stripped Dolomite!

This was also in the yard.. it donated its carb and cables to my 100 project.
