both gene and susie2 have these contraptions fitted and all i can figure out about them is that they cause the wiper on that side to judder like a corpie bus at buchanan street bus station....totally pointless and really infuriating!!
![]() ![]() ![]() why on earth did mother audi ever think that they were a great idea??! ![]()

not so bad at low speed but once you've experienced high speed judder, it would seem that the blades become buggered and then judder all the time thereafter!
if they were such a good idea, why did mother only put them on the driver's side?? ![]()

As a cost saving measure, I guess. After all, the car is supposed to be driven on road, not in rally, so poorer visibility for passenger shouldn't be a problem.
My A90q had shitty aftermarket blade there, god only knows why, but in any case I'm sure it didn't what it should - once had the chance to drive @ ~ 170 kmph in rain and wind blew upper part of windshield clean while kept water on lower part of windshield. A couple of months ago fitted original one, who knows when I will have the chance to test it ![]() |

Judder is caused by deformation of the blade, which is a result of it being at rest for a long time. The blade leans against the motion of the arm and skips, causing the judder. To rectify the judder, fit a new blade.

You can flex the wiper blades to reduce the judder, if it Huddersfield on the way up the windscreen, try turning the wiper toward the windscreen, if it judder on the way down, try turning the wiper away. Two handed grip on the wiper blade and a slow flex to get a little bend in the arm is what you need.

serious modification....you'll be adding more spokes to your wheels next ![]() If the blade is at 90 degrees to the screen and the rubber is in good condition then there's no reason for the thing to judder.......blades are often overlooked untill they split/fail an MOT. Have you ever replaced them? |

![]() ![]() ![]() yes, i've changed them - are you insinuating that i'm a miserable sod?! ![]() i found that they were great when brand new and then a few weeks at the hands of the dreaded aero device, the driver's side wiper was buggered again! it's the same on both cars so one can only deduce that 'tis said device that's to blame! anyway, new blade on gene today, it pished all the way home and a lovely silent wiping action to be had! ![]()
