Default quattro at doune hill climb

Yet again my coupe hasn't failed to suprise me, after a wet weekend at doune and a couple of "moments" I still managed to drive to the supermarket today, after fixing the rear brakes as they wern't really doing anything all weekend.They just needed some copper grease.Apart from that she went very well in the slippery conditions, I used the centre diff lock for one of the runs which improved things. Lots of bumps and crashes as we were all trying to get use to the newly re-surfaced track which felt lovely and smooth but had very little grip under the trees.
As you will see on one of the runs I had a go at rally driving, I should try the grass next time as this was one of my quickest runs all weekend !

Big Thanks again to;

3 MSA Hill climbs, 1 unofficial
Used every day to get me to work
Used on sunday to get the shopping
Used to take the family on holiday

My CQ has done very well mees thinks !

List of troubles this year;
1-Front crank shaft oil seal replaced (the one fitted was the shite plastic one)
2-An exhaust rubber hanger came loose
Er, thats it !

Another exellent weekend at Doune, Sat was dry but Sunday pi$$ed it down, not that it made much difference to the quattro as I was only 1 second off Sat times
2.47 sec to 62 feet in the wet
I had the center diff lock on for the Sunday runs and it realy made a good difference, seemed more stable in the corners and less chance of locking up under braking.

Again I was the only 5 potter up the hill as KEM's shortie never made it.
My times were OK, even sitting on standard springs and cheepo Avon tyres.
Credit to the old girl, I drove to work on Monday morn and it felt like she had been sat at home all weekend !

So whats planed for next year ?
Hummmm, some stiffer springs and some super soft rubber

I will try to get some more incar footage up on utube.

Thanks to all at Doune who made it what it is.

My Coupe quatt, not for sale !

Top notch man. I only caught one of your runs when i was up the hill and i watched your other starts. It was my first time there and really want to give it a go sometime maybe next year if i get the car the way i want it. Really well done, beating cars with more power and less weight. About halfway up there is a right hander with big green pillows on the outside, One of the F1 looking single seaters went straight on and took the gate off the hinges and ended up in the woods.

Top day, ill be back!
