Default Heater Part

Re: 5-10-1990 - Audi Quattro Coupe 20V - 2309 cc - 5 Cylinder - Engine No: 7 A 014151
Heater blower control is sticky and erratic. Not sure what part I need but does anyone have the part that the control operates?
Thanks
Keith

Be carefull there are a few different types of controls. I would suspect you have got knackered cables not necessarily the control panel.
Got any pictures? where in the country are you? ive got several from various cars

Haven't got pic. Kingswinford, West Midlands.
Took knob off and turned metal shaft to ensure knob not slipping.
With knob at max. 12 o'clock, it blows well and reduces to a whisper as knob is turned to '10 to' and then it sticks. Overcome resistance and blower becomes strong again and then seems to operate normally down to off at 'half past'. Audi mechanic said it is the unit inside.
Thanks
Keith

Ok there are 3 knobs so you need to tell which one you are moving.
Blower direction = left
hot/cold = middle
Speed = right
I never adjust the direction when the blower is blowing as you have to opperate against the force of the fan and the plastic knobs/parts dont like it
As i said you need to take a picture of the controls so i can see what type you have, i have found a lot of variation between B3 80/90/coupe and B4 cars

Has it got air-con?
There is very little that goes wrong inside the units, the foam comes off, you will know if it has as you will be getting showered in small foam pieces
