Sunroof Guides...

right, all day I've been trying to work out how to get my sunroof guide cables aligned (the right side is 1cm out of alignment to the left) and am still having no joy, despite burning my finger prints off using brute force on the springs...

currently, the car is minus sunroof, so I really need to get this problem sorted - anyone else had this issue and knows how I can get both sides to be aligned so when the sunroof goes back in it hits the lift and fold markers at the same time?
